What types of classes do you offer?
Vintage Van Gogh’s offers public painting, drawing and crafting classes. We also host private birthday parties, corporate events, bachelorette parties and any reason to celebrate! Although our focus is one-time event classes or parties, Vintage Van Gogh’s does offer either weekly, bi-weekly or monthly ongoing workshops and Master Classes with local artists. During these workshops, you will not only have fun but learn some technique and/or art vocab and history as well. We have open studios for your own non-instruction led paintings, lunchtime coloring lounge (come relax and color on your lunch break) and much more to come.
Do you offer private events for groups?
Yes! If you have a group of 10 or more friends, family members or coworkers we can help create an event for you. Private events are special since you get to choose your art project from our library, have your own private artist(s) and have use of our Sunflower Room (Private Party Room).
What Should I bring with me?
We supply all the art supplies (paintbrushes, paint, canvases, easels, aprons etc.), artist(s) to walk you step by step through your creations, glasses, coffee, water, tea and a warm atmosphere where you can channel your inner artist to create. Feel free to bring snacks and beverages too.
Can I cater in food?
If you have a private event, by all means feel free to cater your event. We suggest you go next door to Rosie’s Pizza (732) 746-3060 to order great food! We can also give you a list of local restaurants down town wonderful Point Pleasant Beach. If you are attending a public class, we kindly ask that you do not cater in and just bring snacks or small meals for you and your group to enjoy. We ask this only to be respectful of all the guests attending classes.
Do you sell frames?
Although we do not sell frames at Vintage Van Gogh’s, our neighbor Angry Fish Gallery sells custom frames and would be more than happy to help you finish your masterpiece with a beautifully designed frame of your choice.
Can children and teens create as well?
We have specific classes that are all ages welcome. Vintage Van Gogh’s also has art classes specifically for teens and specifically for kids. We ask that you please do not bring any child younger than 7 to a regular class to create since it is typically challenging for any child younger than this to sit for two-three hours to focus on an instruction led class. Also, most of the pieces of art are not age appropriate as far as skill levels. We do offer classes for toddlers and young children, so keep checking our calendar to see when they are offered. We consider our adult classes PG-13, so if you are thinking of bringing your teenager(s) please be aware of our BYO policy and that there may be adult language during class. If you are comfortable with these, then you are more than welcome to have your teens attend adult classes.
What should I wear?
Although we do not have a specific dress code at Vintage Van Gogh’s, please remember that the painting classes typically use acrylic paint. Meaning this paint is permanent on clothing. We do have aprons available to wear during classes, but please keep in mind that painting can often be messy and Vintage Van Gogh’s cannot be held liable for any ruined clothing.
What about parking?
There is non-metered street parking available throughout Point Pleasant Beach. There is also a free municipal parking lot right across the street.
